The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme helps support peace and development worldwide through volunteerism. Through the UNV programme, young Djiboutians can gain experience whatever their background. The programme adapts to the experiences of each individual. The programme also targets regional communities and people with special needs.
Context
As social media progressively permeates the population of Djibouti, UNV recognizes the potential of harnessing these platforms to foster a culture of volunteerism among the people. This involves highlighting inspiring volunteer activities and sharing recent volunteering opportunities. With this intention, UNV Djibouti has recently launched a Facebook page and is seeking support from an online volunteer to help us develop content for this page, ensuring its continuous engagement. Task description
UNV Djibouti is looking for a creative online volunteer with a proven track record in social media content creation. To support us promote volunteerism within Djibouti through our newly established Facebook page. The selected volunteer will be tasked with the following responsibilities: 1. Developing a Strategic Social Media Plan: plan should outline the content strategy and include a well-defined timeline for content creation. This encompasses crafting engaging social media messaging, conceptualizing campaign materials, and creating compelling audiovisual content such as graphics and short videos, all aligned with the mission of promoting volunteerism. 2. Consistent Content Generation: On a weekly basis, produce a minimum of 5 content posts tailored for Facebook. These posts should resonate with the UNV Branding Guidelines. 3. Analytics and Reporting: assessing the impact of your content strategy. Regularly providing summaries of analytics will help us understand engagement levels, reach, and audience interactions. These insights will be vital in refining our approach and enhancing our online presence.
Requirements
Required experience
– Experience in developing content for social media, such as writing for social media and creating graphics. – Fluency in written and spoken English and French is required; – Ability to write and draft social media posts in English and French. – Familiarity with Adobe software tools or social media design software. – Knowledge of developing social media campaigns in a professional setting is an asset. – Good knowledge of social media analysis – A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field is considered an asset.
